Eric Ong founded Bonfield in 1985 because of a lifelong interest in the art of horology and a love for fine jewellery. His passion saw him training intensively under Swiss watch masters, one of whom described Eric’s only weakness as being a “perfectionist”.

To ensure that his customers receive the best possible service, Eric has set up a fully integrated workshop with a broad range of the finest Swiss equipment. Eric comes with 24 years of experience, and is one of the few true craftsmen in Singapore who can perform all manner of watch repair − from tooling and metallurgy (including working and plating with precious metals) to that of high-end complications. His specialty is the restoration of antique pieces, so you don’t need to send your beloved timepiece back to its Swiss factory for spare parts.

Eric is also a trained jeweller, fully certified by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). This distinct advantage allows him to perform customised settings of precious stones onto watches. His other forte is also the repair of customised pieces.

Bonfield is a fully licensed watch and jewellery dealer in Singapore. In response to demand, Bonfield has launched in-house appraisal for watches and jewellery. Also on the cards are plans for private shows, talks and watch repair classes;by invitation only.
